Symposium for Multicultural Recruitment

SMU.jpg

The Symposium for Multicultural Recruitment was developed by the Academic Success Program and a team of seasoned admissions recruiters.  The Symposium is unique because it is the only conference in the nation designed specifically for multicultural college admissions recruiters.  The Symposium is hosted by ASP and Uplift Education on the campus of Southern Methodist University every summer.  Recent keynote speakers have included Joe Bellavance from The College Board and Greg Darnieder, Senior Advisor on the College Access Initiative to Arne Duncan, the U.S. Secretary of Education.

In addition to providing professional development for College Admissions Counselors, the Symposium also includes High School Guidance Counselor workshops and culminates in a Student Day and College Fair for ASP students to meet and interact with admissions officers from colleges and universities from around the country.  The Symposium also offers the opportunity for ASP to gain insight into its own programming from the perspective of college admissions officers.

The 2015 Symposium for Multicultural Recruitment will be held June 2015. For more information, please email smiller@aspdallas.org.
