ASP Summer College Advising

While our summer programming looks different this year, ASP is still committed to utilizing our recent alumni and current college students to support students throughout the summer.  Our advising calendar is posted on our events page.  We will be working with colleges and universities to provide different sessions throughout the summer, just like we did this spring.

ASP Summer Interns – 2019

Summer College Advising Support

Thanks to the generosity of the University of Chicago and the Coalition for College, ASP is pleased to announce that we will have a summer college advising staff.   Our summer interns are current UChicago students from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, including some of ASP’s own alumni!  They will be available to help our students with fly-in applications, work on their Coalition for College, Common App, or Apply Texas applications, and brainstorm and revise essays.  Visit their page to set up an individual appointment.

In addition to workshops, our interns will serve as mentors to students who wish to participate in individual and small-group sessions throughout the summer.  Students will be grouped based on their academic interests, their personality, and their availability.  If you are interested in having a mentor, please complete this survey ASAP!

Small group mentoring sessions are held on Fridays at 9:00am, 12:00pm, and 4:30pm!

Join the ASP Summer Remind Account

To keep up to date with upcoming virtual workshops and events, join the ASP Summer Remind account by using this link or texting class code @ASP2021 to 81010.  This will be used to inform students about upcoming workshops and programming throughout the summer.

Sessions to Look Forward To

We will be partnering with colleges and universities around the country to help assist students with all parts of the college process, including the college search!  The week of July 20 will be ASP Alumni Week with students and young professionals from around the country participating in panel discussions and Q&A about their college experiences!  There will be ample time to get assistance with your applications and essays, too.  Make sure to bookmark our calendar to stay up to date!

Set Up Your SCOIR Account

Students and parents are invited to set up their SCOIR account to start building their college lists, exploring affordability, or completing a career assessment.  ASP has partnered with SCOIR to set up college visits, manage students’ college applications, teachers recommendations, scholarships and more.  You can set up your account by using school’s link below.  Parents can also set up an account.
