Lunch & Learn: Connecting with Colleges Virtually

October 8, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Let’s be honest: the amount of virtual events being hosted by colleges can be overwhelming.  How do you decided which events to attend?  Where do you get the information you are looking for?  What can you do to connect with the admissions officer who is assigned to our area?  Why is important to do that?

Great news!  Swarthmore is going to help us sort through the digital noise and give tips for connecting with colleges during this crazy time!  Afterwards, stick around and learn more about Swarthmore – one of ASP’s favorite institutions for their commitment to college access, affordability, and student success.  With strong programs rooted in social justice and peace studies, Swarthmore is an incredible institution for our ASP scholars to consider!

Swarthmore College is a residential private college of liberal arts, sciences, and engineering. Located just outside the city of Philadelphia, our landscaped, arboretum suburban campus is home to roughly 1640 students, all of whom are undergraduates. There are 40+ programs of study including interdisciplinary programs, an option to create your own major, an engineering program, dedicated pre-professional advising, and an honors program. Students are encouraged to create their unique academic paths, and they also carry a deep sense of social concern, with many opportunities in civic engagement and social responsibility. Admissions Counselor Youkun Zhou will discuss how to connect with college communities virtually in the admissions process, as well as highlight the unique offerings of Swarthmore.
