Dakari Butler is more than excited to serve her third year as an ASP College Advisor!
Dakari grew up in the DFW metroplex. In high school, she was not provided with a non-profit committed to aiding in the college application process like ASP. Without additional help, the application process was overwhelming at times. Despite this, Dakari graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts.
Although she is grateful she was able to apply independently, she does not want the next generations of scholars to do the same. Especially 1st generation low-income students, who are most in need. Looking back on her time applying for college, she understands that she would have had more access to opportunities if she just had additional guidance. Dakari is dedicated to ensuring that students are aware of every option and opportunity available to them.
Emma Gabriel

Emma Gabriel is very excited to serve as an ASP College Advisor at Booker T! Emma is originally from a small town in Massachusetts called Mattapoisett, and she graduated from Swarthmore College in 2025 with a major in History and a minor in Educational Studies.
After graduating from college, Emma spent a year in Galicia, Spain, on a Fulbright grant, where she worked as an English Teaching Assistant in a public high school. Emma is passionate about issues related to special education policy and education access. These interests brought her to ASP, where she is excited to connect students with affordable, high-quality college options that will help make their goals and dreams a reality. As someone who didn’t have access to a college advisor in high school, she is committed to supporting students and families as they navigate their own application journey, hopefully taking some stress out of the process.
When Emma isn’t college advising, she enjoys playing the violin, taking ballet classes, reading literary fiction, and trying new recipes.
