Dylan Matney is ecstatic to serve as the College Advisor at North Lake Early College High School. He was born and raised in the DFW Metroplex and is a graduate of the University of North Texas, where he earned his Bachelors of Arts in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication. While earning his college degree he worked as a tutor for the AVID program at Fossil Ridge High School, and worked with students to help them make their college dreams come true. After graduating from UNT, Dylan served the Keller community as an educator in Keller ISD for 5 years where he taught 7th Grade English, AVID, and 5th Grade English/Language Arts before joining the ASP team in 2022.
As a first generation college student, Dylan knows how overwhelming the college process can be, and has a strong passion for helping students navigate their college journeys. While in high school, Dylan was fortunate enough to have someone he could go to for help with the college process, and he is dedicated to being that person for his students.
Dylan is an avid reader, and when he isn’t helping his students with college applications and essays, he can probably be found at Barnes & Noble, browsing the fantasy/science fiction section with a Starbucks coffee in his hand.
