Eileen Mata is incredibly excited to be Lead College Advisor with ASP at Seagoville High School! She grew up in Oak Cliff and is an ASP alum. She is a first-generation college graduate who attended the University of Texas at Dallas and double majored in Cognitive Science as well as Child Learning and Development.
Eileen has always had a passion for learning, the brain, and higher education. In college, she was so elated by the opportunity to attend, that she decided she wanted to help others do the same. She started her career as a G-Force mentor placed at W. T. White High School, working alongside ASP to help students go to college. Following this impactful experience, she conducted research on first-generation college students to better understand factors of success. She also leaned into brain science, diving into teenage brain wiring and the impacts of background on information intake. Her research has informed her advising and has helped her serve students in her community better. Eileen benefited from quality advising, and she intends to give back by providing the same.
When she is not working with students, Eileen is spending time with her husband and three-legged dog, Benito (yes, after Bad Bunny!) She also enjoys spending time outdoors, participating in two book clubs, and traveling whenever she can.—

Jamari Bass is excited to return for her second year as a College Advisor at Seagoville High School. Bass graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in English and a minor in Sociology in 2022.
A DFW native, Bass is familiar with the inequities that come with being part of a marginalized group. In high school, her “college advisor” was also the cheer coach who only talked to students in honors classes. The college application process was an exercise in independence and self-advocacy, and Bass witnessed the majority of her graduating class get left behind. Bass hopes to encourage the students she works with to not only advocate for themselves but for their peers as well.
When she isn’t working to make higher education accessible for all, she is usually roller skating, playing video games, or being terrorized by her cat, Rei.

Emily Consuelo is delighted to serve as an ASP College Advisor at Seagoville High School. She is a Pleasant Grove native and a product of DISD, where she attended Skyline High School. As a first-generation student, she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Animation and a minor in Visual Arts from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Before becoming a College Advisor, she was a summer camp and after-school teacher. That is where she discovered her passion for working with youth. Due to this, she wanted to help students who are in a similar position she was once in. As a first-generation student, Emily knows firsthand the challenges and struggles that come with applying to college. She is ready and committed to providing the support students need while navigating this journey.
In her free time, you can find her crocheting, playing video games, going to concerts, or making art, from animation to graphics. Additionally, she loves to hang out with friends and her sorority sisters. She is a proud sister of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority Inc.
Josue Salcedo

Josue Salcedo was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended KIPP Charter Schools for middle school before moving to Connecticut for high school through the A Better Chance Program. Afterward, he returned to Texas and attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated in December 2024 with a degree in International Studies and a specialization in Politics and Diplomacy. He has interned in various industries, but his true passion lies in nonprofit work.
Josue knew from the moment he graduated that he wanted to work in the nonprofit sector. He especially wanted to become an advisor because, as a first-generation student, he worked very hard and received support from multiple organizations throughout middle school and high school. Their guidance made a huge difference in his life, and he hopes to be a similar source of encouragement and change for the students he serves.
Outside of work, Josue enjoys traveling and has visited more than 7 countries! He speaks both English and Spanish, minored in French during college, and had the opportunity to live in France while studying abroad. In his free time, Josue likes to stay active through scenic runs, pickleball with friends, and dance classes.
