Jannely Flores

Jannely Flores is thrilled to work as the lead college advisor at W. H. Adamson High School. She was born and raised in Oak Cliff and is a proud alumna of Dallas ISD. Jannely is a graduate of the University of North Texas, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a certificate in Latino/a and Mexican American Studies.
As an ASP alum, Jannely recognizes the impact that college access can have on students, and as a first-generation college student, she understands how daunting the college admissions process can seem. She is excited to help students achieve their goals and support them throughout the application process.
When Jannely isn’t at work, she enjoys singing, spending time with her son, and cuddling with her cat Missy. She is looking forward to meeting and working with students this year!
Flor Vargas

Flor Vargas is incredibly excited to serve as an ASP College Advisor at W.H. Adamson High School. She was born in Mexico but moved to Texas at the age of six. She grew up in Celina, Texas, about an hour north of Dallas. She is a first-generation student who attended Colorado College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Southwest Studies with a minor in Chicanx/Latinx studies.
Before becoming a College Advisor, she worked in the field of education in different capacities. She was on the ground working for school board elections in the Colorado area before accepting a position at Austin College as a Reporting and Records Specialist. While she enjoyed this role, she realized her passion for equitable education called her to be in a role that had more of a direct impact on students. Flor believes that education has the power to transform people’s lives and is super excited to work with the students at W.H. Adamson High School.
When she isn’t thinking of all things college, Flor enjoys her leisure time reading, watching TV, and painting.
Reem Omar

Reem Omar is thrilled to serve as a College Advisor at W.H. Adamson High School. She grew up in Arlington, Virginia, and went on to the University of Chicago, where she earned her degree in Psychology and Comparative Human Development.
During her time at UChicago, Reem worked with the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs as a Lead Facilitator, guiding groups through conversations on topics ranging across intersectionality. That work required both sensitivity and deep knowledge, and it taught her how to lead people through difficult but important discussions. She now brings those same facilitation skills to her conversations with students and families about college.
Reem is passionate about helping students graduate with zero or as little debt as possible. She believes a college education has the power to take you places, and that it’s even more powerful when students can walk across the stage without a financial burden. She is here to help students and families make informed decisions and find the path that works best for them.
When she isn’t thinking all things college, Reem enjoys playing pickleball, catching the newest movie, and spending time with her black cat, Ember.
