Princesa Tinajera is excited to return as a college advisor for Seagoville High School! She is a Dallas native and DISD Alum. She graduated from Seagoville High School back in 2015. Ms. Tinajera went on to graduate from the University of North Texas with a BA in English – Creative Writing and a minor in Psychology. As a first-generation student coming from a low-income household, she wants to ensure every student has access to higher education. She knows first-hand that navigating the college process can sometimes deter students from continuing their educational journey, but she wants to be a valuable resource for students walking the same halls she once roamed.

Jamari Bass is excited to return for her second year as a College Advisor at Seagoville High School. Bass graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in English and a minor in Sociology in 2022.
A DFW native, Bass is familiar with the inequities that come with being part of a marginalized group. In high school, her “college advisor” was also the cheer coach who only talked to students in honors classes. The college application process was an exercise in independence and self-advocacy, and Bass witnessed the majority of her graduating class get left behind. Bass hopes to encourage the students she works with to not only advocate for themselves but for their peers as well.
When she isn’t working to make higher education accessible for all, she is usually roller skating, playing video games, or being terrorized by her cat, Rei.
